Get a Jump-Start on Next Semester
By now, you’re probably done with your college tests for the semester, but there’s no harm in getting a head start on your work for next semester. E-mail your new professors and ask to see the syllabi for your classes. You have a whole month off for winter vacation, so why not use it productively? It’s a great way to stay on track and show your professors you’re serious. Take the time and start reading the books you’ve been assigned. Make notes and outlines on important parts; that way, when the teacher gives out reading assignments or asks questions in class you’ll have a handy note guide. Think of potential project and paper ideas so you won’t be scrambling or have to wrack your brain when the assignment is first handed out.
If there are things on a syllabus you think you’ll have trouble with, hire a college tutor to help you go over them, so when the new semester starts you’ll be ready. If you live far away from your school and want to keep using the same tutor when you return, look into college online tutoring; then it won’t matter if you’re in California or New York — you’ll still be able to work with the tutor of your choice.
