College Math Tutor, Economics Tutor, Engineering Tutor – When no one else can, Newcastle will…
Anyone receiving college online tutoring at an American university will be interested to gauge the arguments in Davis Guggenheim’s 2010 documentary, “Waiting for Superman,” which analyzes some of the failures in the American public school system.
Guggenheim, who sends his own children to a private school, examines the dire state of public education in America, where children are struggling to pass their state math and English tests. He tells his story through five inner city children and their families who seek an alternative to mediocre local schools plagued by crowded classrooms and poor teaching standards, all contributing to learning and behavioral problems.
These students, located in Los Angeles, Washington, Harlem, the Bronx, and even an affluent corner of Silicon Valley, enter lotteries to win a scarce place in one of the country’s best charter schools that will give them a chance at attending university and receiving quality education and support from college tutors. In some cases, students wait apprehensively to see if their name is plucked from a bingo machine that will determine their future.
What’s your opinion on the state of America’s schools? See “Waiting for Superman” and weigh into the debate.
